Heads Up friends! Love San Lorenzo Canyon but today January 2, 2021 between 11:30am and 1:30pm we had our truck broken into as we hiked the upper canyon. I believe these scoundrels intended to steal our truck but the alarm and maybe a good Samaritan chased them off. I would say watch out for someone sitting inside a white truck with the engine running at the upper end of the canyon where people park to hike.

Absolutely Gorgeous and Breathtaking. I don't know how I have lived in New Mexico all my life and have never been. A must see location for every soul on this earth and especially hikers and outdoorsy folks in general.

San Lorenzo Cañon! What an interesting place! What I like about this trail is it can be whatever you need it to be. If you just want a leisurely stroll to take in the amazing scenery, no problem! My lazy 5 year old who always asks me “can we go home now Mom” did fine 😉 Then again, you want to scale some rocks, risk sliding down the side of a mountain, the canon can deliver too. My 7 year old daughter and I did some off reading for real yesterday and muscles 💪🏼 I didn’t recall I had are SO sore today! Amazing place. I’ve been twice this week and I’m going back ASAP!

Really beautiful. Not very big and the rocks are a bit crumbly for serious rock climbing but definitely bring a good camera and come a few hours before sunset.

Beautiful slot canyon, was there in winter on a nice day. In the warmer months there is probably a lot of dispersed camping along the dirt road.
