Very disappointed! We drove 1 hour to visit the museum and it is not open as Google shows on here. The museum has been closed since March when the pandemic caused everything to close. The Museum is in an area where there is a lot of construction and I looked through the windows and everything is taking down like it closed for good.

You're basically making a donation to support the arts community if you visit here. This is a museum, not an art gallery. They do not have any Kahlo artworks (though they do reproduce some in various interesting ways.) It is essentially a short walk through her life story, with photos and displays. Everything is in English and Spanish, and there is a lot of creativity in the installations, particularly in how they show a hospital stay she had using 3D projection mapping. Overall it's very small though, and honestly should cost $5 not $15. Good for an art fan on a rainy day.

Pros: The exhibits were creative. Some interactive digital displays. A fair bit of information if you have time to dig. Cons: No original works. The price is very high for what is offered. Timeline jumps back and forth. The museum space is small and really doesn't show much more than collages of prints, and dioramas. It felt a little out of place, not sure what ties it to the area besides tourism.

Spent quite a lot to take a taxi to the museum from my home North of there. My sister was visiting, and I was anxious to take her. Went during museum hours...closed for "Day without Women". Would have been nice if they would have posted that on their website, and had it reflected in the hours. Very disappointed. We saw other people arrive and leave upset, also. Better call before you go, because it can be closed without notice.

The tour was on point! Many interesting info about Friday Kahlo, I loved it! The museum is not that big but with the tour you will learn interesting stuff about Frida
