Mini Zoologico de Pio Barran Barteli

The old artefacts and collectables made for an interesting collection. The animal part rather horrific and animal cruelty at its finest. There were far too many birds in the enclosure and the were prodded with a long stick to get them moving and perform tricks but the birds were visibly disturbed whenever the stick entered their domain. I felt really bad for entering and paying for this and by doing so keeping this place alive. It started with the animal cruelty and after that I just wanted to leave, but you still have to go through the whole "museum". I was in and out in 10 minutes and 50 pesos for that is a little expensive. However someone should get in touch with animal protective services to do something about that bird situation.

Great experience. It was my favorite place in Tlacotlalpan. The guide was gentle and we had the opportunity to learn more about birds and crocodiles.
