This is such a pleasant place to visit on a beautiful day. I love the gardens and all the animals. The exhibits are thoughtful and a nice size. You can easily see an entire exhibit without losing anyone in your group, and since most are in different buildings, those built in breaks make this the perfect museum for groups where not everyone is deeply interested in art.

We visited after a visit to Freda Kahlo museum and will confess that this was way better. It's a little out of the way, but worth it. I feel that this must be included in the must visit places in Mexico. It is full of stuff and has so much more space so you can enjoy at your own pace.

This is a beautiful estate and the art is amazing. So nice to see a lot of the original Frida and Diego paintings in person. The animals are also a nice treat to see. My son really enjoyed that part of our visit. I only have a few minor complaints about the place. One is the fact that they charge a fee to take pictures of the inside of the halls. I understand that they need the funding for the upkeep but why not tack it on to the entrance fee? On the upside, it does help with the flow of traffic not having to wait on everyone taking selfies at each painting 🤷‍♀️ One of the halls was closed but there was no signage. Would have been helpful to know before walking over and trying the door. I observed lots of people doing that. And finally, I think they should hire more museum staff to guard the halls. There were some people who were guarding two rooms at once and were in the way of the flow of traffic.

Most beautiful museum ever visited. Loved the Coelo and Rivera exhibits.

Fantastic museum to visit particularly if you are interested in the artwork of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. The gardens are very beautiful and filled with many peacocks! The paintings and other artwork are extraordinary. Dolores Olmedo was great friends with Kahlo and Rivera and collected many of their works. The collection is well displayed with both Spanish and English explanations of the various paintings. My only wish was that photos were allowed without flash as is the case in many major museums. The small but lovely cafe served good coffee and cold drinks but not very much for food. Excellent time and well worth the trip to see this museum.
