Gorgeous place, Cerro de la Campana has a great view of San Jose and the surrounding mountains, there are cabins you can rent at San Jose or if you prefer to camp, Valle del Ovni is the perfect spot, remember to hire a guide at San Jose for any trekking activities.

Amazing protected area and such an experience to get there. You must contact a local guide to take you from Gomez Farías, the closest town, to the Reserve up the mountains through a not so easy, dirt road, in a 4x4 pickup truck. Stay in the reserve in one of the charming cottages owned by the local community, who also offer fire wood, meals and guided hiking trails around the reserve.

We had a great time here , the grass was green , weather was cool mornings and evenings but just right during the day! Very beautiful walk to the cave , and also waterfalls! We also did the zipline . Now the cons ): very many mosquitoes (close to the water ) , and the bed I slept in needs a new mattress , and it would be nice to have a plug-in to charge your phone! Overall the good outweighs the bad !
