Citibanamex Culture Palace, Palacio de Iturbide

The Palace of Iturbide is a palatial residence and a free museum. Here you can wander galleries and enjoy rotating exhibits of artwork. The museum features many exhibits by Mexican City artists. It's a great place to visit in Mexico!

One of those unexpected museums you end up enjoying. And it is free! I was walking around and decided to give it a try. The moment I went they had an exhibition focused on artesanal Mexican culture: sculptures, rags, dresses ... beautiful. The museum, architecturally talking, is fantastic as well. Really lovely contemporary Mexican folk art collection. Open on Mondays when most cultural institutions are closed.

Free museum with real mexican handcraft and art, a nice place to spend half an hour on a discovery adventure

Excellent display in an historic building, celebrating 20 years of "Grandes Maestros" of Mexican Folk Art. I originally saw this exhibit years ago in Oaxaca, so it was a pleasure to see the expanded display on 2 floors. All that was missing were the wonderful photographs of the artisans that the book accompanying the exhibit provides.
