I think you can get a good initiation to some of the history of Mexico and all the players from other countries who wanted a piece or all of this beautiful country. Take your time and read the information with each picture or representation. It will make you want to know more.

I would avoid this museum if you do not read/ speak Spanish. The museum is full of interesting dioramas and images, but without speaking Spanish there is very little context to understanding them. I would recommend visiting the roof top garden however, it is small but spectacular... and it is free.

Cost was 80 pesos, which is the same as Chapultepec Castle but with much less stuff. The focus is on mostly Mexican revolutions from approximately 1700 to the early 20th century. The museum is completely made up of informational wall placards and dioramas. The dioramas are great but there are no other visual displays other than that. The only other display, which was really awesome, was at the end in a circular room, which I assume is the center of the snail shell, which held a book that I think was the original Mexican Constitution, and had a yellow stained glass ceiling and a giant Mexican eagle. Since I was translating every wall placard into English, it took longer than I expected to get through the museum, but still only took me about an hour and a half. If you are a native Spanish speaker or can read Spanish, I assume it would take you less than an hour.

Everything is in Spanish :( But the maquettes are very beautiful and the building itself is very special. Its one huge spiral that's very fun to go through. The roof has many amazing cacti and a brief explanation of each species. It's a pretty cheap attraction you can definitely spend an hour or two here.

Great museum. I absolutely enjoyed this place. Take your time, look at everything. Don't miss down stairs. The entrance to xibalba is behind the red tall statue. Just an wonderful little museum.
