The Sultan Aslan Shah Airport [Lapangan Terbang Sultan Aslan Shah] is the airport serving the city of Ipoh in the state of Perak, Malaysia. Currently, there are 3 budget airlines using it -- AirAsia [from Singapore and Johor Bahru], Scoot [from Singapore], and Malindo [from Medan]. The facilities are barebones with signage in Malay and English. Note that there are no aerobridge/jetbridge that links the aircraft to the terminal. Passengers must climb ramp stairs/mobile staircase and walk in the open, exposed to the weather. There is a gift shop and a cafe, a Muslim prayer room. Flights are expensive but they provide convenient direct access to Singapore for onward travel.

Small but quite modern airport. One of closest airport to the city and getting there is fast and cheap.
This airport meets easy-in, easy-out requirements of fans of small airports, and it is the staff that gets the most praise among airport experts and critics. Malay hospitality seems to go far here, which is a helpful issue at a small airport, where delays can sometimes be a fact of life. This airport is truly a favorite of many travel pundits
