This is a nice hunebed on the edge of a forest. It is situated on the green coloured walking tour. It is the last hunebed that was excavated in the Netherlands.

The landmark itself is a few rocks and I wouldn't recognize it is a landmark at all if there wouldn't be a sign (in Dutch). The trails there are amazing though.

This Hunebedden is at the end of an unpaved trail. I approached on bicycle. It seems to have fewer visitors than others. It is noted for being the last Hunebedden to be excavated in the Netherlands by archaeologists in 1968-70. On the day I visited there was an unpleasant smell of farm fertilizer in the air.

Wednesday January 27, 2021, my girlfriend and I walked the 8-kilometer Heritage Walk together. Due to the snow that had fallen at night, the paths were difficult to see, but this did not spoil the fun. At the large sign in the beginning 5 routes were indicated with a corresponding folder with facts and facts that you found along the way, we found this very informative. Hunebed D26 is in a beautiful location with a view of the now white, but normally green grass of Queens Grass with the Hunebed Highway behind it.

Part of a walking route that is 8 kilometers. Passes through forests, meadows, fields, you name it. At some point you will come across historic hunebeds that are very beautiful.
