The bird department is in good shape, but all other animals and their lodgings are often victims of poor care. This is about nutrition, shelter, medical care in case of illnesses or injuries. Well-meaning volunteers are certainly needed, but also people who know what each animal species specifically needs. And who see to it that this is done consistently. Too often I have to see that this certainly was not always the case.
