We have been to Naarden several times, and we always visited the town hall for it's lovely model of the town. As per my knowledge, they have recently opened a historic court room and mayor's office for public. This time we also got a wonderful story of the town's history from a local guide Ruud, which was a highlight of all our visits here!

The former Town Hall in Naarden Vesting is now being set up as a museum and it remains a wedding location. In the past, justice was administered in the lower room. The supporting beams are visible on the ceiling. On the wall are the beam carriers, these have a so-called human figure and are still called the eavesdroppers. A beautiful building to visit. The building is located in the heart of the Vesting Naarden. Fr. W 2020

What a beautiful little town near Amsterdam. Unfortunately we were a bit unlucky with the weather but could still enjoy the beauty. The weekly market was a stunner. Seen from the upper one can see how the old city wall with moat is still well preserved. And the structure of the streets is very reminiscent of New Amsterdam (York 😉).
