Very cozy and very amsterdamish sqare in honor of popular folk singers from the surounding bars from past century. For all urban fans

This little square is in the middle of a relatively busy road as it is one of few streets where cars are allowed in the centre. It has a kids playground and a recycling station that is almost constantly overflowing. There is another one at the end of the street, but most people prefer this one due to being located outside the supermarket. The square also has some benches for seating, but the bar and coffee shop nextdoor usually attracts some questionable company evening time, so it is not the nicest location to hang out.

Nice, cosy and busy place to watch people on bikes, on foot and in cars dodging each other. Get a beer at Cafe De Eland for best viewing spots.

Johnny Jordaanplein is a public square (actually more like a long rectangle) in the centre of the tree lined avenue of Elandsgracht. It's more like a local park with paved area, grass and playground, than a traditional European public square, although there are plenty of cafes and restaurants on either side of Elandsgracht. At the eastern end of the square is a set of 5 sculptures of singers of the sentimental, misty-eyed Levenslied genre of pop music. It's okay, probably more for fans of this genre.
