Gouda's 15th Century Town Hall

Very beautiful place, surrounded by lots of restaurants and shops. Visit during Christmas for lots of festivities organised during this period. Gives a very rustic, pleasant small city atmosphere. Ten minutes walk from the station

You are excused if you didn’t know there was an actual city called Gouda in the Netherlands. Many of us enjoy the cheese and don’t think much more of it. I strongly believe there is nothing to be ashamed of… if you don’t go, you don’t know.. that’s my philosophy. The locals sure put on a show every Thursday morning from 10:00 to 12:30, from April to August, at the traditional cheese market. Reminiscent of times past, the farmers and traders seal their bargains for the best cheeses through clapping hands. You are sure to get your full travel experience as food venders fill the town square with their stalls. I enjoyed freshly baked bread and local cheese for a euro or two, lifetime memories… check.

One of the most remarkable local government building. I thought it was a church or something in the first sight. In winter, ice-skating ring is temporary built surround the building.
