Tulip Tours Holland

Such a lovely tour! Really nice lunch included too. A unique tour (we even got to choose the colour of flowers we wanted to visit). Got some great photos on the drone too!

My now fiancé Maggie and I went on a tulip tour with Mike & Seila on April 25th, 2019. The tour began when we were picked up near Amsterdam Centraal station. We were in a group of 5 in a white van. We learned that Mike, the tour operator, was at least a second generation tulip farmer. He seemed to know everything it was possible to know about tulips, how they are grown, where they are grown, the culling/collection process, and what happens after they are collected. It was truly fascinating. We traveled North of Amsterdam to the peninsula and north of the Hoorn city area, specifically around Oosterblokker. On our way we saw fields and fields of millions of tulips of every color. The tour continued with a visit to the tiniest candy store you’ve ever seen and its delightful Dutch candies. We then had the opportunity to stop and visit several tulip fields to take pictures in the fields. Later we made a visit to a windmill museum and a working windmill that was in operation. We were allowed to go up into the windmill all the way to the top and see the inner workings of the windmill. There was some rain on the day of our tour, but Mike and Seila didn’t let that ruin the day—they were prepared with rain boots, and reorganized the itinerary to let the rain clear up. The small group tour allowed us to meet other people in the tour group, and the opportunity to ask questions of Mike and Seila. The tour was an excellent value for the money, provided excellent opportunities for photos, and allowed us to learn about tulip farming, windmills, and Dutch culture. Mike and Seila even helped me with a surprise proposal to Maggie by taking beautiful photos and video—we cannot thank them enough for being part of our special day. We would recommend this tour to anyone who loves beautiful sights and of course, tulips! 🌷 🌷 🌷
