We had a nice coffee on a bench and we ate a butter jam
The mill's history dates back to 1712 when the mill was built as a paper mill. Rags were ground and the pulp was manually scooped paper.
In 1845 the mill was bought by the then lord of the castle (A count) of Neubourg. In 1853, the count received permission from the province to convert the mill from a paper mill to a grain mill.
In 1905 the mill was destroyed by fire, but the water wheel was spared. In 1907 the mill was modernized and a turbine with an iron movement was taken into use and in 1930 an electric motor was added.
Nice to see how such an old wheel turns, but you also see that little maintenance is done on it, such as lubricating the v.d. bearings.
