A'DAM Lookout

We had a lovely hour or so at the top of this tower! Views were excellent, the swing was a lot of fun, and the drinks were very generous- well worth getting the ticket that includes drinks. There was a lovely chilled out vibe with music to relax to and enjoy the evening. Only shame is that the netting around the lookout makes it difficult to take good photographs.

Beautiful view overlooking the city of Amsterdam. Free ferry to and from, centrally located to shops, restaurants, and train station. Friendly service, food okay, great drinks and ambiance. Loved swinging over the edge of the building. A must do if you’re in town.

! RACIST ESTABLISHMENT ! I am a tourist from India visiting Amsterdam and I happened to arrive at the Lookout. As I was about to enter the gift shop, I was stopped by the employee who asked me not to enter the store as it was closing according to him. I left after he told me this. On my way back from my walk, I noticed that people were still entering the store about 15-20 minutes after I was refused entry. I stuck around outside for a bit to observe and I saw that several people were still entering the store unstopped. This was really upsetting and I went inside and asked the employee why he had stopped me and why he was still allowing others to enter. His explanation was that they were already holding tickets for the Lookout. I did not find this explanation satisfactory as there was no way for him to know if any tickets were being held by the people entering or not and neither does it say anywhere that it is necessary to have Lookout tickets in order to enter the gift shop. Safe to assume it was racism as I'm a dark skinned, bearded man. The management responded with simple lip-service when I emailed them about it and did nothing about it. Good views, but not super tall so a bit underwhelming compared to rooftop lookouts in other cities.

Nice view of Amsterdam, just be aware that you need a separate ticket for the swing
