Then follow this simple SOP guide on how best to enjoy the Cheese Factory Volendam: 1) Browse cheeses 2) Watch demonstrations on how cheeses are made 3) Sample cheeses 4) Check out the cheese museum within 5) Spend way too much money on cheese and cheese accessories 6) ??? 7) Profit; go home happy! Be warned, though: some of the cheeses are quite, uh...potent. I purchased a three-pack of various aged Old Amsterdam gouda, each more mature, robust and, well, let's just stay, odorous than the rest. The first two were absolutely delicious, but the third was too much for even my strong stomach, palate and olfactory senses. You'll recognize it by the salt and "sweat", and the aroma will hit you like a freight train when you crack the seal.

I went there with a tour that was offered to have a demonstration from this so called museum. However, there wasn't any demonstration at all but only one staff that gave us a quick speech while promoting their products at the same time. The biscuits are very salty and it is not at all tasty. A waste of time. Tourist trap.

It's a Dutch experience one has to try it if you find yourself in the charming fisherman town of Volendam, its a tours on the cheese-making process, tastings & demonstrations, this is an all-in-one museum and a cheese shop.

I went as reviews said they had a tour and they dont do it anymire. You can access free to the "museum" but the 5 mins tpur is for those people who arrange a tpur from amsterdam. If you walk in you cant. Anyone can have some cheese tasting to choose what you to buy from there. It would be nice if they offer you some extra explanation so it doesnt feel that they do it for you to buy. Otherwise, the cheese tastes excellent and they have a good range of variety and accesories.

Even if you are not a cheese lover you will love this place. Learn every step it takes to make cheese. Then go to the shop and try all kind of cheese. I bought a few great gifts here. Very informative, fun and for all ages. You can also walk around it’s a beautiful town
