St Agatha Convent

We visited accidentally when on a biking trip. Very welcoming place, freely accessible and very serene surroundings, especially in the gardens. A very welcome surprise, thanks for whomever is responsible for it.

Spirit

The old part, which contains the - now closed - tourist information, is beautiful and the monastery garden is well worth a visit, even in winter. There are some very rare trees there. But it is unfortunate that some 1950s (?) Bleak, straightforward monastery has been built against the old church. That kind of detonates. There was probably a much older building there. From the monastery you can make beautiful walks through the Maasheggen and along the Maas.

There is a serene atmosphere and in the garden you can see a beautiful pond and beautiful old trees.
