We were here last Sunday too. Beforehand we visited the other side of the A7 where there is a monument in memory of 16 innocent civilians who were shot there in World War II, including a 13-year-old. This monument can be found via the monastery road where there is a parking lot. Search under Trimunt Marum, where you can read more about this story. I have seen the bunkers for 50 years when we drove past them, but I did not know the history. But since last weekend it has

It is impressive to see that it is just that. No maintenance and just open and exposed. Too bad about all that graffiti. The land is apparently from a farmer who dumped his silage plastic here in some bunkers. You can walk over it. 1 bunker is full of water.
