Justice, Freedom, Peace. This can be found as Latin text on this statue from 1959 and created by Oswald Wenkebach. What many do not know is that the battle between Joris and the dragon symbolizes the war period, and then in the capacity of the Netherlands and Germany. Joris (Netherlands) stands proudly on his pedestal and looks at the dragon (Germany), which has been defeated after years of struggle. Joris himself is made of bronze and stands on the pedestal, while the image of the (mechanical) dragon can be found in relief in the stone. A special spectacle and a statue that has been well thought out. So that we never forget ....
