Not big but with a supermarket greengrocer butcher and hairdresser and cafeteria sufficient diversity

A local small mall with a Coop supermarket and a few other shops including a flower shop. Nothing much but a nice spot - with free parking - after a visit to this beautiful old village (since early 17th century) along the New Dike in the province of Noord Brabant. Feel like Napoleon Bonaparte who paid a visit here in 1811. The village of Nieuwendijk in Brabant was created in the seventeenth century along the dike of the same name, which was completed in 1646. Through this dike a polder area - the Nieuwland van Altena - could be reclaimed that was reclaimed from the open Biesbosch water. Three locks were installed in the flood defense, which were close to each other and the water supplied by windmills discharged from the polder areas. The first residents of Nieuwendijk have settled near the locks, such as the millers and other water board employees. They were soon joined by a few farmers, who went to live on and along the dike and acquired agricultural and pasture land in the new polder. The first small workers' dwellings also appeared in the small neighborhood for the men who found work with the peasants and in the reed bunts and whales of the lonely, rugged and almost inaccessible Biesbosch waterland.

They are reasonable shopkeepers, but then I come most often ... for a forgotten message ... but not really ... now I come out a bit more often .... but otherwise I go to wdam or almkerk

Small cozy shopping center ... Present, supermarket, butcher, bakery, greengrocer, florist, hairdresser. Market on Thursday afternoon. Also present.
