One of the most successful fountains from the 11Fountains project. The surroundings of the fountain and church were immediately addressed: a beautifully designed park by Piet Oudolf is an extra green element. It is only right that the radio astronomer, born in Franeker, is still honored more than a hundred years later. He found that the Milky Way orbited (just like the planets in Eisinga's models). The cloud to which the fountain refers is one made up of many billions of comet-like rock and ice objects around our solar system. Invisible infinitely far away, but almost poetically depicted here.

Beautiful fountain but will beware of Legionella in the middle of summer!
