Three months ago, I brought two vintage bicycles to the Weimarstraat Dutch Bicycle Recycling (DBR) shop. One bicycle was to to sell/trade (1970’s Union bicycle), and one was to be fixed (1970’s Gazelle Tour de France in need of a new crank). He offered to trade the Union bicycle in to pay for the crank and labour on the Gazelle. He assured me he will find the parts several times and now, 3 months later-he informed me he threw out my Union bike. He did not call me to ask or to offer it back. Then he said he would not fix the Gazelle bike either. He handed me the crank he took off so I could not take the bicycle home easily. It was a total waste of time and I am out a perfectly functioning vintage bicycle.

please think twice before buying a bike here! i thought i was getting a good deal and have had to replace almost every part of my bike (except the frame) since then. i don't know if it's bad luck or dishonest salesmanship, but i am dissapointed in this place and regret my choice :(

Do NOT bring vintage bikes here for restoration: they used steel wool to remove rust and removed the vintage logo (which was not rusted) of my 1950’s vintage gem, despite explicit and clear instructions at the outset to preserve the bike, the paint and the logo.

Friendly people and had my bike fixed properly and for a very reasonable price!

Great bikes, and what an interesting owner!
