Even genieten, ook met carona kan je hier toch heerlijk uitwaaien met het maart zonnetje erbij. Aanrader.

Article written on March 6th, 2021 You can hike for a long time directly by the water or through the very shallow water, but it is recommended to wear water shoes because of the mussel shells (including oysters!), Jellyfish and crabs, which like to hide in the algae tufts. I love the quiet in the off-season and enjoy the sometimes strong wind. The view is worth seeing in any weather. Often there are great cloud formations, plays of light and sunrises and sunsets. Numerous birds live on the protected islets. There is always a lot to see - a paradise for landscape photographers. People you meet are always friendly and often willing to have a nice "chat", especially among dog owners. Water sports are also actively practiced in some places. The beach is always very busy in summer. Since the water is shallow and there is no current, it is also suitable for small children. I subtract a star because the water gets really disgusting in long hot periods. Since the water is very shallow and the Veerse Meer no longer has open access to the sea, it heats up strongly. It is nice and warm, but unsavory algae carpets (but very interesting color scheme, keyword: photos) and the brackish smell tarnishes the joy of staying there. Unfortunately, it is also here as everywhere when many people are somewhere: after their departure there is a lot of rubbish on and in the water, although in the summer months there are rubbish bins close by almost everywhere. That always makes me both sad and angry. Since 2020 a new settlement of 108 "vakantievilla's" has been built in Wolphaartsdijk. It'll be nice there, but I'm afraid the region will turn out to be a disadvantage when all the houses are finished and inhabited. Wait.

Lovely walk with the dog!

Really delicious here. Walk on after the sprayed-on beach and enjoy cool under the trees. The water is clean and delicious. The children catch crabs and shrimps and are happy. The disadvantage is the cross jellyfish. I had a red swollen wrist from such a little one for 3 days. But oh well, nature.
