Thank you Annemieke, thank you for your attention, your humor, your involvement. I thought it was nice to see how, in this bizarre corona time, you made contact very easily with all members of our large family, with our large family. Although I had often met you during funerals, with Petra and Nel, there was now again the surprise of how respectful you are doing. The way you did the last care of my old mother with the help of three sisters was so careful, it moved me. You insisted that my mother's body be placed in the coffin, thus creating the image of my strong brother, carrying his 97-year-old mother in her coffin with the help of two women. A beautiful image on my retina. There was also room for humor, eg, the coffin with the remains of my mother, which suddenly had to be turned in the cemetery, because we suddenly knew that our father is also lying in their joint grave the other way around. That gave some confusion, but also lightness. Today I was in the cemetery, today was their wedding day: 75 years ago: Carel and Annie Bergsteijn. Together again. Thanks!

At a vulnerable moment Catrien and Nel step into our lives, it immediately feels familiar. Catrien is there for us all week and adapts very naturally to our rhythm and to our needs. Of course everything has to be arranged in a short time, but we do not feel rushed. That Catrien is in control and shows us the way, gives so much peace. She does this with respectful accuracy and shifts smoothly when the situation calls for it. She helps translate our wishes into a nice farewell and does not hesitate to come up with suggestions. By feeling flawlessly and listening carefully, they all turn out to be very spot on, even though we sometimes had to sleep on it. Much more is possible than we could think of. We are so glad she did! As a result, we look back with love on how we said goodbye.

Catrien has guided us so calmly, professionally and lovingly, both in the preparation of the cremation, during the cremation and even attention after it. A nice person to have next to you in the whole ritual of saying goodbye.

Help! Suddenly I had to arrange 'a funeral attendant. At the word alone I was taken to and I mainly saw black marble, sandwiches and a coffee table in front of me… .. No! However, I needed help, but wanted it in a way that suited us. Via through informed others' where should I be? "And I heard good stories about Swan Funerals. Then the call but in the chaos and emotion. I think it is very nice how Nathalie has helped us. Sensitive, professional and always starting with what I wanted. It gave me the feeling that I was finally in the lead when I was not always able to make decisions. She made good judgments for me in the background which seemed to suit me well. And that was not easy because it involved another farewell in a theater with 800 visitors in collaboration with colleagues from TivoliVredenburg who also had their say and wanted. The way they took the lead and gave me the space and also clearly stated limits, considered a large family, was an important contribution to the way we had to take so suddenly and far too early goodbye to my dear and which our young children had to say goodbye to their father.

Death is part of life. That was our mother's motto. We were therefore not surprised that she had already selected her funeral director herself when she was still alive. When Annemieke came in we understood her choice so well. At De Zwaan they listen to and help you with the wishes that exist. Are firmly in the guidance and take a step back where space is needed. It doesn't have to be according to a standard, it can deviate and the support in the choices you make, the helping words and the eye for detail, are all so very nice. For everyone close to them, whether they are 7 years old or 40 years old, there is a kind word and sincere attention. For children, mourning is different and actually the process is different for everyone and that there is attention and space for this, also in the aftercare that they understand very well here. When our father also passed away recently, we had no doubts. Also now Annemieke came, saw, listened and arranged. Different than usual. Another beautiful farewell, also in this corona time. We look back at 2 very nice funerals that could have been different, such as befitting the deceased and the next of kin.
