Designer Menno Anker came up with it, students of the Nimeto executed the design, and the spectators at the Grand Depart and the prologue of the 2015 Tour (and many after!) Saw / see it: an ode to Utrecht's great architect and furniture maker Gerrit Rietveld, a multicolored, abstract cyclist. Would Gerrit have liked cycling? The fact that in 2015 the Tour passed close to the former workshop of Rietveld and the Rietveld-Schrõderhuis, might have inspired him. De Stijl 'en vélo', and then the start of the Vuelta (in 2022?) Has yet to come 😊.
