If there is a place where you can meet the local Arnhem people, it is in the Klarendal Shopping Center. It is located on the Klarendalseweg where many small fashion shops from local designers can be found. This is pretty much the only indoor shopping center where you can still smoke a cigarette inside. Whether it is allowed is another matter, but it can and happens. There is regularly a fishmonger at the door with really tasty fish. There is also a huge parking lot. So you can always store your car there.
