Recently my mother - who lived in Voorburg - passed away. We interviewed a number of funeral directors and Desley became the obvious choice. (Note that it was my mother's choice to select Desley in her final days as she felt most comfortable with her, understanding her final wishes.) Her personal dedication and professionalism is unsurpassed which showed during the cremation. Desley also works according an open book principle if it comes to cost. The cost to her are transparent and not uplifted. At the end she just adds the fee for her efforts which is agreed upfront. Consequently she doesn't try to "up-sell" things you don't want or need. It also meant that the final invoice was lower than the estimate, saving us thousands over her competition.

When selecting a funeral director, we chose Desley because she responded quickly and with a clear offer. She immediately created a group app which made contact very easy. When discussing the funeral, she knew very well what we wanted. Nothing was too much for her. She made good suggestions, eg to place things that were important in the life of the deceased around her coffin. That gave a very warm feeling at the funeral. The organization of everything went smoothly, as expressed her professional training. She was present but always in the background. Even after the funeral she was still available for us. Receiving an asterisk with the name of the deceased with an accompanying sweet card at Christmas was very good. In short, highly recommended!

My dear husband passed away on November 5, 2020. Via received Desley's phone number and called her right away. How glad I did that, the help with practical things and the compassion is so personal. In the funeral home, Desley or Theo came every day to see if everything was still okay. I have such a good feeling afterwards that I called Desley. She has a solution for everything and nothing is pushed down your throat because you are emotional. Everything was done with a lot of respect. Thanks again Desley and Theo for this valuable funeral.

Desley and I work together as colleagues. In addition to each other. She as a funeral director, I as a ritual counselor. As far as I am concerned, she is an example of a funeral director who 'gets it'. She works meticulously, her scripts are tight, the PowerPoints or photo presentations carefully put together. Desley is what you see, what you get. She is straightforward (if she doesn't like something, you can hear it, and I really like that) and has a big heart for her customers. She is always full of respect for the deceased and the next of kin. She really stands up for the customer and speaks to others when they are disrespectful. Desley adjusts her rate when she works with me. I take over her work, so customers pay less. To me that shows how honest she is. At Desley you really get value for money. Everything is tightly arranged. And, perhaps best of all, you can also laugh. Despite the sad setting, she manages to create that lightness for her customers. You hear it; I am a fan of Desley!

The loss of my husband is the worst thing that has happened to me, my husband died suddenly and unexpectedly after a very short illness. You then fall into a very black hole where you also have to arrange everything, something that you are actually unable to do at that moment. But thanks to Desley and Theo it was done in a very compassionate and professional and warm way. They listened very carefully to how the funeral as I knew my husband and we had discussed should take place. My husband was a big fan of the Carpenters and with the help of Theo and his knowledge of music some very nice songs were played at the funeral. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Desley and Theo again very much for the great help and support that I received from my husband during the preparation, the funeral and after the funeral.
