Weird? It's just what you find odd: those concrete boxes in which companies are housed in the background or the lock that was there much earlier, but now lifted up after being sawn into pieces (because yes, quite awkwardly large). Good, a lock, which was built around 1938 as a connection between the Schalkwijkse Wetering and the Lek Canal built around 1936. However, the lock was also intended to function in times of war as an inundation and flood barrier for the area behind it. Solid concrete walls, equipped with fetching bowls with bollards and wooden revolving doors with 'curved, serrated quadrants'. Rare and part of the Waterline. Therefore, now as Found Object in or better: placed above water, together with a number of fellow waterline structures. Pass the lock path to experience these imposing, UFO-like appearances.
