Great park next to it there is a large playground nearby, there is also Lidl where you can have something to drink and get a delicious ice cream and chill in the park

Very special to see. Difficult to get there even with GPS.

In a lost place in the Millingerwaard, beautiful, rugged, capricious nature, always that river Waal and the white sandy beaches, come here often and gladly because always soothing and beneficial, I find today, Saturday 9 June 2018, Woodhenge, a monument with a nod to Stonehenge. In the middle of the landscape close to the Waal, a bit past the Millinger Tea Garden, a dozen high black poles suddenly appear in front of me. They are oak trees, 8400 years old, trees from the first floodplain forests after the last ice age. In 1996 dredged from the Waal soil by Rijkswaterstaat and placed here as a symbol for the restoration of the riverine forests in the Millingerwaard. I think they are spaced and appropriate for this place. They are like works of art with their own atmosphere and story. When I look closely at them, I see the most beautiful images. The deep black color is caused by the thousands of years in the soil, where a charring process has taken place under anoxic conditions. That is why the wood is so well preserved. Beautiful traces from a distant past that are now gradually weathering and disappearing under the influence of wind and weather. Like everything. I cycle on, see an old and dilapidated brick factory with a high chimney surrounded by barbed wire, old rails on which the baked bricks used to be transported. Everywhere I see traces of the past, which are sometimes still seen and used by people today. The rails continue through the water to the other side of a large puddle, forming a fordable spot for a couple with their bicycles in hand. A man with a dog also uses it. I see it is possible, turn my mountain bike and take the same road. That is great. Traces with the past.

Beautiful area for walking or cycling. You can see buffalo lying comfortably on the water from very close.
