Budget Bike Leiden

Highly recommended! I bought my first bike here. It was my first bike, so I went for a cheap one. Because cycling was new to me, I didn't know how to take care of it properly and I had some issues. Budget bike always helped me and provided a great service. Great business with honest and hard-working staff. I wish they had a shop in Amsterdam, too.

Always like the way the treat me. They joke around but always help you out for a reasonable price! They always manage to fit you in their schedule! Very friendly!

My brother left my bicycle was left at the shop for two problems. The crank bolt had come out, and my front brake lever was bent. He was told that it is not possible to replace just a lever, but he would need to replace the whole break system. Receiving my bicycle back from the shop, it was obvious that the front wheel had been horribly aligned, which affected the steering very negatively. Although the crank bolt problem was fixed, there is now an annoying ticking noise coming from there. I cannot understand what is causing it and it was certainly not there before. Finally the changing of the break system had been done in an absolutely sloppy and amateur manner, as they did not even shorten the break lines so they would fit, but just left them the original size as you can see in the picture. They are now constantly getting caught on other bicycles as I try to park it. I decided to take it to another bike shop which I know works very well. There, I was informed that it is absolutely possible and easy to change just a brake lever and changing the whole system was something completely unnecessary, just so they could get some extra money. My only conclusion is that they decided to take advantage of my brother, seeing his young age and and expensive bicycle, selling him redundant hardware. Not only was the new brake system not needed, but it wasn't even installed properly. This is a sign amateurs with no business ethics.

This place is a definite recommendation, you can clearly tell that the team there has a great attitude towards the customer. I had a long term leasing deal, in which they were remarkably accommodating throughout the whole process.
