Thrifty Car Rental

We are in the process of getting a rental car and we were advice on Thrifty's Facebook to order online which we did. When we called the local branch they told us there was a new fee for a total of 50% of the car rental for a shipping fee to return the car to the current location. We are still investigating this with Thrifty corporate if this is the policy or the lcoal branch trying to run a scam. But it sure feels like a scam as the website clearly asked us where were to returning the car and the booking was quite clear.
