OILMAN EXPRESS LUBE, PARTS, SERVICE AND SELF-DRIVE CARS (car rental) (transportation rental)

We needed a self-drive rental car on short notice, and got a very good one here for an excellent price. This is a repair shop which has a few rental cars on the side, not a rental car company, so be aware that the arrangement is pretty informal and you sign to take on liability for the car, no rental insurance available. The price however was unbeatable. I got a van for 2,000 / day that would have been 3,500 - 4,000 /day at one of the Dumaguete rental car companies. Part of the informality is that you are better off trying to arrange a rental in person, or through a contact in Dumaguete. I called from the USA, but had no way to close the deal as rental here is a cash transaction. My son who lives in Dumaguete went down and paid the 1st days' rental as a deposit. If you are OK with the informality, the service is 1st rate: Airport pick-up and drop off is offered including after hours (we didn't need it), and although we offered to return the car it was picked up for us instead. I love my air conditioning, and I didn't think it was cold enough in the 1st vehicle so they switched it out for one I liked better. Overall we could not have been happier.

We originally plan to rent a vehicle through Rodg Rent a Car in Dumaguete. However, they were giving us a quote that did not match the amount advertised on their website. We wanted a specific vehicle that was good for couples, yet the lady representative kept on referring us to a much larger/expensive vehicle. Luckily, a tricycle driver referred us to Oilman Dumaguete! We met the owner himself and ended up renting a vehicle through them that saved us several thousand pesos! I highly recommend Oilman Dumaguete for your vehicle rental needs as you will be dealing with the owner himself. He have several vehicles available for rent both manual and automatic transmission. Just be sure to give him a heads up so you can secure the type of vehicle you prefer. Go check them out! You can thank me later. :)

Unfortunately I've had quite different experiences and would never do business with Oilman Express anymore, hired a car there for a very long time and left a lot of money there, Manny is very friendly and helpful, he even helped me with a car buy, he said only small things have to be done and the car came back after two weeks and was scrap, until today this car does not drive, because no one knows what was made of it, so it gives me 0 stars, unfortunately had a star give, otherwise I would not have been able to post
