New Town Hall in Olsztyn. The building was erected in 1912-1915 on the site of the Holy Cross Church demolished in 1806. It is currently the seat of the president of Olsztyn. It is worth seeing and taking a picture during the trip around Olsztyn.

Olsztyn New town hall The building was erected at the beginning of the 20th century (1912-15), in the style reminiscent of the Renaissance. Noteworthy are the sophisticated balconies, annexes, bay windows, decorations in the form of bas-reliefs and a clock tower rising in the middle with a gallery and a slender helmet with a lantern and a spire. The Town Hall is located in Śródmieście, at Jana Pawła II Square. It was built on the site of the Church of the Holy Cross, demolished in 1806, around which the cemetery was located. The existence of the former cemetery is often forgotten during road works around the building. A few years ago, during a remota of one of the streets, so many skeletons were found that the work was delayed by several weeks. Today's town hall form gained in the mid-1920s after the south-west wing was built. The aforementioned clock tower in 1930 was equipped with chimes that sounded until 1943, when they were melted down for military purposes. The chimes returned again in 1969, winning the melody of Olsztyn's "O Warmio moja miła" hymn, composed by Feliks Nowowiejski. Currently, the City Hall houses the City Hall, the City Council of Olsztyn and the Registry Office.
