beautiful Place.
gym is inside the building
breakfast are really good and the staff is also very helpful and friendly.
couldn't complain and i will repeat :)
Very happy with food and hotel. Wish I could of stayed longer....Looked after all our guests and very happy to of had our wedding reception at Wodnik.
REVIVAL OF STALIN TIMES!
Pluspoint: employees are friendly!
Downsite: This hotel is really old stile Warsaw-packt Stalin-times!
For example: when you arrive - you cannot find the reception if you can not read in Polish. Perfectly normal for Stalin: Foreigners don't have business here! When we informed by a smoking lady where to find the reception, we were told to go 2 stairs up (there was an elevator, but we did not know. Was not indicated in English..)
The reception (and the rest of the hotel) is cladded in luxurious marble, Stalin likes it that way. In the lobby you would expect a smiling lady to make you feel welcome. There was one, (real friendly) but behind a screen. So we could not see her. Haha, guest should never feel welcome, thats how Stalin wants it. The reception is rather dark, there are no windows, no daylight, but big chandeliers. Yes, Stalin knows how to make guest to feel UNcomfortable. We became our key to a room. Big room, had a small prison-size window. Thats how Stalin designd it. Well, we asked for a lighter room, and the lady from the reception (who was really friendly) got us a room with TWO prison-size windows.
The toilet-shower? 2x3 meters and 3,5 meters high. Small light at 3 meters and all marble-cladded. Can you imagine a crematorium is more cosy than this badroom? Who cares!
The airco was very noisy – but did NOT cool. Logic, thats Stalin!
Something else: towels were not changed, and there was no toiletpaper. Why? Because we left our room card in the reader, so the staff tought we were inside the room during the day. Question: when Stalin stays in his room, he never showers nor visits the toilet? MAKES SENSE!
Haha, a single knock on the door was too much...
Breakfast was a real disaster. It was never complete, we always had to ask for normal things like orange juice or coffee (machines broken, no beans in it or just not turned on... Juice and coffee? Thats LUXURY for Oligarchs and Koelaks! Stalin knows what is best for us and did not want us to enjoy that.) Yes, it IS a breakfast buffet. But ohno, there are even guests coming! Who could have imagined that! (yes I did, I could tell you that a year in advance. It is a HOTEL. And a 4**** too!)
The last morning I almost got mad. There were 6 guestst and there were 2-3 persons looking after the breakfast buffet. There was NO coffee, no juice, in the end no mugs, no saucers and too mad to talk about: all plates were not washed. Dirty plates! When I talked to a waiter (with beard) he told me the plates were clean!! And he did not even bother to take the dirty plates away (I warned some other guests for that)
Well, it is good for him Stalin is not in charge anymore... and the reader will know why, a Stalin-solution for this problem would not be nice....
HOWEVER in the restaurant were had evening dinner, there was a young waiter with a bald shaven head. He had empathy for the guests. He was fast and professional. The dinners were very good, so there were good cooks too!
Haha! Stalin LIKES good food, I know! (now)
I advised him to start his own business.
And from here I advice toe OWNER of this hotel to make this waiter the manager. MAYBE things will be better than!
If a person considers to go to this hotel? PLEASE DO SO!
The stories you can tell afterwards will do very well at birthdayparties and weddings. It is a true Unforgettable experience!
