Loved staying at The Salty Pelican.
I went there on my own and met a lot of like-minded people. The vibe is just great.
The mansion is very clean and lovilgly furnished.
My highlights were definitely the sunrise yoga classes by the beach and the meditation hike. Would totally recommend doing the hike!
Hope to come back soon.
If you are planning on coming to Lisbon, take a few days off to wind down and relax, stay in Cascais, and stay here! It's definitely one of my favourite places now! You have surf, yoga, you can have drinks, have fun, but also relax. The staff is super friendly and helpful with anything you need. Doing yoga with that lovely and warm morning sun will be forever one of my best memories. Absolutely recommend!
My boyfriend and I booked a three day surf and yoga stay with Salty Pelican and had the most amazing time!
The staff there definitely made this trip for us. Super helpful and friendly! Answered all the hundreds of questions that I had, gave us some great recommendations for places to eat, day trips, etc. and were just super accommodating, pleasant to talk to and to hang out with.
Highlight of the stay for us was definitely the yoga classes, which were incredible especially in the morning - on the pier, with the sounds of the ocean around you. The teacher is awesome and has the most soothing voice. We also got the best massages.
Highly recommend the Salty Pelican to everyone and anyone; and really hope to return for a longer stay soon! Thanks so much guys :)
The Salt Pelican was an amazing surprise. The perfect place to relax and escape the hustle and bustle of the city. Very friendly staff, always helpful and available. It is undoubtedly a place to return to whenever possible. Thank you for the fantastic experience.
The area is quite nice and good to relax and calm down. the hostel and furnishings are pretty shabby and worn out. the beds are super uncomfortable and hard. the rooms are not a bit soundproofed. you can really hear everything - when people go to the toilet at night or come in from outside. even if they try to move quietly. you can hear everything really loud, since the doors don't have any dampers either and are old wooden doors. everything is a bit dirty. the showers rust in some places and in many corners you can see that something is broken or used a lot . the pictures are taken from a good angle so that the defects cannot be seen. the breakfast is loveless and not of good quality. I know the hostel will reply a long monologue under my feedback that everything is fresh and homemade but that is definitely not true. In addition, it is extremely unhygienic to wash things like towels or floor mats that are used by ALL guests at 30 degrees for a short wash out of stinginess. a bit of work would have to be put into it, and things would have to be brought up to scratch and renewed. The owners seem to be too generous for maintenance and really only try to do the minimum so that it is halfway ok. if you have a hostel where people come and go then you have to expect that things will wear out quickly and you should be willing to renew and renovate things. Here you can see very clearly that the income in money is more important than putting something back into it.
