Europcar Faro Aeroporto

Do not use Europcar at Faro Airport if you don't like getting scammed. I made two rentals but checked in with different names and credit cards. They claim that I'm the driver on both cars and charge me another 65 EUR's because they say they can't change the name due to technical issues. If they can't realize that I don't need to drive 2 similar cars at the same time and can't change a name, I wonder what they need personal "service" for. A business or a service employee for that matter that can't change a driver's name and want to lose a customer for 65 extra EUR's does not deserve to be in business. I recommend you use other alternatives - there a plenty.

Like some reviewers here, we were were told one thing and charged another. Plus they speak the prices with no tax, which is simply not a thing in Portugal. Very dishonest people behind the counters.

We purchased the medium insurance plan online. When we arrived there. The staff told us that we can get the premium plan free of charge as we were over 25 years of age. I specifically asked if there was any cost and she said no.2 weeks later, we find out we have been billed for this and when we call, they are not willing to do anything. Do not go with these thieves!

1) Exaggerated local fuel shortages in an attempt to up-sell to a more expensive diesel vehicle. 2) Refused to provide the rental unless I opted for the expensive premium insurance citing it was mandatory for non-EU citizens. 3) Asked to change driver to my partner who is an EU resident, and was quoted an extra 100 euro to rent. So much for a guaranteed price...... still looking in their policy for such legislation and waiting on a response from the complaints department. Zero customer service skills, borderline scam. Cancelled reservation.

My car rented from Europcar in Porto was having problems (comment under the port agency) so I went to the nearest Europcar garage where I was and it was just excellent! The staff were adorable, extraordinary, attentive, helpful .... in short, superb! (and this is rare so I hope they will be thanked by their company!) The staff took care of me right away, they listened to me, found a solution, fixed the problem and 1 hour later I left with my repaired car with superb service! A big thank you again to this quality staff! without them, I could have waited at least 5 hours .....
