Friendly and fast service, the car was good, the price great. I can really recommand Insularcar 👍👍👍

Decided to go with insularcar for a 28 day rental as it was the cheapest after the 3/4 common cheap rentals which have really bad reviews and we was not disappointed. Firstly we was already in Funchal and picking up from the office and there was some confusion as the office was closing for dinner. Jorge got in contact with us and arranged to pick us up from our hotel and took us to the office to complete the paperwork which was very helpful. We have private excess insurance so had to leave an 800 euro deposit and there was no pressure to take their additional insurance. Car itself was in great condition. The pre check was quite brief and basic and only noted major chips and dents. We was slightly worried about this as on closer inspection later, there was some smaller marks that was not included so we took many photos as a precaution. Upon returning the car, the check was the same and there was no surprise intense inspection or questioning of the already noted damages. The car was great for a month. Given the price of insularcar vs the other cheap rentals, I would recommend as you are likely to get a better car, good service and if you don't take additional insurance there are higher excess and more risk as shown by the reviews of other companies.

Good service

Generally OK, car OK, I had no problem with deposit return. But politics with 1/4 to 1/4 tank in my opinion is not honest. I had hotel near car rental, beside they had also garage to clean cars. One day I saw man who pumped out fuel from car tank. I wonder why? Last day I finded out. Pointer was a little below 1/4, I was refueling the car and checking gauge, pointer did not move at all. Only when I tanked in total 13 liters it moved up, but it moved to 3/4 capacity of tank. It was much more than needed. Later it is pump out to 1/4 capacity for next customer. Gauge working perfectly when goes down, but don't work proper when goes up (during fueling), I thing it is on purpose.
