Pestana Royal

We have just had a wonderful week at Pestana Royal Hotel. Our third year on the trot. No complaints. We particularly liked our spacious room with balcony facing east, the sea and the pools. Real special thanks to all the staff who made us feel so welcome from our arrival until our departure. In particular to WALKING GROOVES. This exceptional trio entertained us all on two of the evenings that we were there. Unbelievable talent. Had us all rocking and dancing. WONDERFUL.

Hotel is nice and clean. Food is very good. I wouldn't recommend this hotel if you have issues with stairs. Probably needs more daily activities for guests to participate in. Ideal for the older generation who want a peaceful break. Youngsters, no action.

What a fabulous hotel! Beautiful, clean and the staff were great. Right by a fab pool and the beach... food was great and bars well stocked. All inclusive so spent the week overly full. Large room overlooking the pool with good bathroom. Will definitely go again.

The location is very nice and the hotel structured soft is very elegant. rooms are generous and size however the beds are a bit stiff. Getting around the places very easy and overall it's a quite enjoyable location depending upon your age. Having spent a week here the majority of the patrons are retired folks, white hair people. We saw only two children and I would say the average age is 65 plus. Having said that we saw a few people who were younger however when the entertainment stopped came out and tried to play music they were told quite rapidly to not do that because most the people (retiring folk) prefer to be quiet. As result there's not a lot of activities happening here that involve any sort of animation. The food here I would say is okay. It's a buffet and it's pretty routine you have a early dinner and a late dinner option, all buffet. The quality food is 6 or 7 out of 10. For a five-star resort I did expect much better quality of food. overall I would say if you are in the retired set this is a great place to come, if you have young children or are not yet retired yourself and are looking for more things to do than is probably better to find a different hotel.

Great place with wonderful staff , had a very nice week. We were disappointed with the disable access to the indoor pool but the weather was nice enough to use the out door pool.
