Sixt Rent a Car

Staff is really friendly and tries to be helpful but NEVER EVER agree to any upgrade. First question was to upgrade our booked car as she explain is to weak for mountains which turns out it's not true. Second she recommended to buy fuel as there is no gas station nearby, which is also a lie and for full tank around 45-50€ you have to pay 70€. We didn't get a car we booked, instead got weak and basic Audi which was very disappointing

Sixt is basically running a scam. They accept online payments for car and insurance in advance, but when you want to pick up the car, they ask for additional deposit that can be paid only by credit card. In case your credit car doesn't work, you don't get the car you paid for. If another person wants to pay, they will charge for additional driver even if the person will not drive. We are currently considering legal options.

Absolute SCAM, this car Rental Company is the worst. We got a Damage Claim over 494.94 € for a Dent that was preexisting! The Money is gone and i would never.... never ever rent a car with SIXT again! Do not trust anything these People tell you! The whole process of Handover is really bad organized. All they trying to do is making you overlook Dents and Scratches, so that they can later claim this preexisting Damages to customers over and over again. If you like us don't want to pay extra for an unnecessary insurance you will be scammed for old damages. In total the hole experience was a nightmare. We didn't get the car we booked, the Customer Service was bad, the Handover was bad organized, the After Sale Service was bad, we waited hours and hours on hold just to talk with incompetent people that where lying to us! I would strongly recommend everyone to use other rental agencies in Madeira.

We visited the branch in Madeira. Rented the car through Rentalcars. The person serving us was nice but rushed us through the process. She convinced us to upgrade the car for the one with stronger engine for the price of £62. Did not mention costs ajustment in regards of additional driver and added herself the super cover for extra €200. In overall the car rental for 6 days cost us £407.82. Be aware of their practises!!!!
