Insurance bribery at his finest. Not a nice start of our holiday

Do not hire with this company,they make up policies in order to charge you extra. Avoid at all costs

Please do not use this company, they keep your deposits and charge 50 euros for a bit of sand, this is the most expensive car hired EVER, 5 days has cost us over 250 euros and impossible to get your fuel deposit back A few days later they have now charged another 50 euros, still no fuel deposit back

One star only because it's not possible to rate lower. Worst rental car company ever! I wanted to extend my rental period because my flight was cancelled. I called customer support and they told me that they would contact the agency in Faro and call me back to let me know if possible. No call received. I called 7 other times and waited an insane amount of time at the phone just to realise that the Faro company was not picking up the phone. I then drove to the agency and since it was more than one hour after the returning time on the contract they charged me 40 euros + another day of rental. I filed a complain and as a reply I've been told that I was informed that I needed to go back to the agency in Faro to extend the contract. I've never been informed. Worst customer service ever. Avoid this company!

Faro, Portugal. Endless waiting, not friendly, saying that your credit card is not valid (called my bank, nothing wrong with the card) but in the end, after 45 minutes she had to admit that part of their terminals didn't work with certain types of cards. Pushing too hard on insurance (we usually have the extra insurance through our own insurance company). For the service I'd given 1 one star. But we had a good car, so for that a second star. We never had poor service like this with Goldcar in Spain.
