Ausocar Rent a Car in Setúbal

I showed up to pick-up my car which they had received payment on but the office was closed. I called and was told that they have closed the Setúbal office completely. They told me that an error on their website prevented them from letting me know that the reservation I booked wouldn't be accepted, although for they decided to keep my payment until I was standing outside the closed office?! Since I had rented with them on numerous occasions before, I am bewildered why they didn't simply search their records for my name and see if they had my contact information. I know they have this information on file because they have used it to contact me in the past. If, for some reason, this wasn't possible, why didn't they refund my payment right away, 3 days ago when I made the reservation?! If they had done this, it would have alerted me that something was wrong and to contact them! It saddens me that this is how you treat your loyal customers.
