The super synagogue, very nice and warm Jews, generously greeted, and we spent all the autumn holidays together in 5781. Thank you very much everyone for such an organization of the event, meals, prayers, lessons. It was a lot of fun 🤟

The Jewish community in the Omsk region was formed in 1854. At the beginning of the 20th century, two synagogues appeared in Omsk, including this one, which has survived to this day. The synagogue is a rectangular wooden building on a brick base. In the style of construction, one can see the “Moorish” style with Jewish motifs in compositional solutions. The original windows of the synagogue are completed in the form of a horseshoe, but the devitrification is made in the shape of the star of David. In 1920, the synagogue building was municipalized, the community rented it for a while. Then the synagogue was closed. In 1935, the building was transferred to an epidemic hospital, then for a long time the Health Education House was located here. In 1990, the building was recognized as a monument of wooden architecture of regional significance. A year later, the building of the synagogue was returned to believers, namely the Jewish community "OR HADASH" ("New World"). In 1995, on the eve of Hanukkah, the grand opening of the restored synagogue took place. Now in the synagogue traditional Jewish ceremonies are held, Jewish holidays are celebrated. Hebrew courses and a Hebrew Yiddish club are open in the synagogue.
