An interesting metro station with an unusual design. The columns are curiously made, the walls of the station are decorated with volumetric triangles, which to modern advanced users will remind the arrows of navigators and online maps. The station has two exits, two spacious glass lobbies

One of the largest cities in the world is about the beautiful Moscow ... It is also one of the most attractive megacities. How many books have been written about the history of the capital, but you can also recognize it by the metro ... Each station has its own unique and memorable appearance. It is also the history and geography of the city and country. It is also the most visited architectural site of the city. This territory which is crossed every day by a huge number of "spectators" ... This cute station of the orange line of the Moscow metro, called "Medvedkovo", has its own interesting story. It was named after the eponymous district of the city, which in turn was so named after the village of Medvedkovo, which was located here earlier. This village has been known since the beginning of the 16th century as the possession of the boyar VF Pozharsky, nicknamed "Medvedok" (or bear). They called him that because of his extraordinary strength ... At the beginning of the 17th century, Prince D.M. Pozharsky became the owner of Medvedkovo. The one who played a unique role in saving Otechesta from foreign intervention. In the decisive period of the Time of Troubles, it is here, on the territory of the former village of Medvedkovo, where the Chermyanka River flows into the Yauza, the people's militia D. Pozharsky and Kozma Minin made the last stop before the decisive battle with the Poles for Moscow. This is how Medvedkovo contributed to the history of the Time of Troubles. After the end of the Troubles, D. Pozharsky made Medvedkovo his main residence near Moscow. In memory of the events of the Time of Troubles, he built here in 1620 a wooden hipped-roof church of the Intercession of the Virgin. In 1634-1635, D. Pozharsky rebuilt it into a stone one, which you can admire today ... Here's the story. The station was opened on 09/29/1978. It became the 107th station of the Moscow metro. More precisely, the station itself is located on the site of the village of Raevo (it was granted by Peter I - the famous Naryshkin ...) and the village of Vatutino (belonged to the wife of Peter I, Empress Ekaterina Alekseevna ...). All these settlements became part of Moscow in 1960. The metro station was built according to the project of N.A. Alyoshina, Honored Architect of the RSFSR, Russian architect and designer of ground and underground facilities of the Moscow metro. She created metro stations: Marksistskaya, Kaluzhsky most, Chkalovskaya, Spartak ... Architect N.K. Samoilova helped her. The theme of the station design was the development of the North. Didn't the country, which was the first in the Arctic and the North, deserve such an architectural dominant (albeit underground)? The conquest of the North is the most important page in the history of Russia. It turned out to be a kind of underground ice cave ... The walls are faced with red marble and aluminum panels-pyramids, which seem to symbolize ice blocks in the icy desert ... Also, the walls are decorated with 8 decorative panels. Master - M.N. Alekseev, tried to depict the nature and life of the North. The plots of the panel are different. Here is a polar bear on an ice floe, and a flight of polar geese, and hunting for polar geese, and wood grouse, and sledges pulled by a reindeer, and ice blocks and ... The lower part of the track walls is lined with gray granite. And the floor is paved with black and gray granite. 26 columns are faced with yellowish pink marble with stainless steel inserts. The ceiling with crossbeams also apparently carries, not only the engineering load ... It turned out that the station looks pretty nice. Upstairs, good infrastructure has also developed around the station. Multiplex cinema, several shopping malls, brand stores, one of the best bookstores in Moscow, indoor food market, various cafes. And the area itself is around, lively and saturated ... Comfortable, probably for local citizens ... Someone likes the station, someone thinks - nothing special ... Everyone has the right to their own judgment ... But the thematic tendency of the development of the Moscow subway as an object of culture and education is very attractive ... has already become a tradition and pride of Moscow.
