Cathedral of the Entry of the Theotokos into the Temple

Two-pillar five-domed three-apse brick cathedral, lined with white stone. Built on the contribution of Boris Godunov in 1598 - 1600. In 1695, in the northwestern corner of the Cathedral of Vvedensky, a small pillarless single-domed church of St. Alexis, Metropolitan of Moscow, was built. The porch surrounding the cathedral was completely rebuilt in the 19th century; in the southern porch in 1867, the Filaretovsk chapel was built. Closed in 1927, served as a warehouse. In 1971 the porch was broken. In the late 1990s and early 2000s. restored in the forms of the XVI century

The construction began during the reign of Boris Godunov (1598-1605). The Cathedral of the Entry into the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary is the main of the four churches of the Vvedensky Vladychny Monastery. It was built on the site of the old church of the same name, which, according to tradition, appeared here in 1362 under the founder of the monastery, Varlaame Serpukhovsky.
