Embassy of Grenada

A large building, probably like the whole of Grenada. Mansion in the center of Moscow.

Almost every house on Povarskaya Street has its own history and was built by one of the most famous Moscow architects. Here, for example, is a rather modest-looking house number 40. This mansion was built in 1885-1888 for Prince A.B. Golitsyn, designed by architect A.E. Erichson. On October 2, 1901, the Medvednikovskaya gymnasium was opened in this building, which in 1904 moved to a building specially built for it in Starokonyushenny Lane. Like the neighboring property No. 38, before the October Revolution, the house belonged to the Samarin family. The house of the Samarins on Povarskaya was demolished in 1965 for the construction of the Gnessin School. Currently, the former Golitsyn mansion houses the Embassy of Cameroon, like many other Povarskaya mansions. No wonder Povarskaya is often called Ambassadorial.
