This was one of the most unique, special, and cozy hotels I have ever had the luck to stay in throughout my 16 years of travel. Where to begin!? The owners go out of their way to make sure EVERY need to attended to here, from electronic adapters, to personal escorts in the night, to delicious snacks, juice and beautiful breakfast. LET ME NOT FORGET THE HEATED FLOORS! I wanted to stay there for a month. You will find yourself at the heart of the 'medina,' or the old city center market- and this in and of itself is something rather magical. You wake up to the sound of bustling market sounds and smells, and right at 3PM everything shuts down and you hear a silence that only exists deep in the forest, (really shocked how quiet this are here in the night, really beautiful to be honest). The home that has been made into a hotel is beyond words- I can't imagine this used to be someone's home it is like a mini palace with every corner painted and decorated. I think they must have done a lot of restorations as well because while it has that old world charm, everything is very solid, spectacularly clean, and well-kept. The service from the people who worked in the hotel was excellent and I felt so safe here. After just a few days I started to feel right at home in what was first a neighborhood I had difficulty navigating. The property is SUPER safe, they have cameras everywhere, the property is never left unattended and the owners keep a keen eye on everything. I can't wait to go back and bring my friends and boyfriend, they are going to completely melt over this fabulous gem. I felt much happier and comfier here than in the typical types of hotels around the city. Aziz- one of the employees at the hotel made sure we were always safe leaving and returning in the night and taught us how to navigate the tiny market streets. He even took us for some typical Tunisian plates and honestly these are some of the loveliest memories we'll never forget again. I had the chance to stay in 2 different rooms during my stay and this was just lovely as could be in both. I would love to come one day with a large group of friends and rent all 5 rooms in the hotel at once, (birthday dream)! Don't forget - beds all new mattresses and pillows too! Sparkling clean!
