Xiangde Temple

It is not a particular spectacular temple but it is worth visiting; what is unique are two golden Buddhist statues. Under the temple is a small vegetarian eatery run by the temple. The noodle and food are surprisingly good. You are better off eating here than the restaurants in Tianxian.

Taking the bus from Hua Lien Central railway station and you stop at the last stop after a short tunnel, then you arrive at the Xiangde recreational area. This is a peaceful environment with a temple guarding its tranquility. To this end, you need to go across a red suspension bridge for pedestrians, and then climb up around hundreds steps. But this is an easy task. With clear water flowing under the bridge, and some pagoda on the mid way, you will easily forget your labour. The temple on top has several statues surrounding it, including a white Guanyin and a golden Brahma. But the botanical work around it is more refreshing.

Xiangde Temple is a peaceful and secluded temple, which is on a hill and require some walking to cross a bridge and some stairs climbing. There are a few different walk paths which lead to different small temples or pagoda to pray. Overall, I think that this is a good recommended place to go for praying to get blessings.

Awesome place! Just a little people inside, so you can enjoy silence and peacefulness. You can meditate or make your own practice. Time by time nuns came to the temple to make praying and it's really cool to be here at this moment. All the place is so inspiring. I love it and dream to visit again!
