Zhuwan Dayi Temple

Don’t go here. They keep large sea turtles in a tiny pool in a dark basement here. Absolutely torturous. I feel so bad for these gorgeous sea creatures. They are not meant to be kept in such a cruel way, all for the sake of getting tourists to give them more money. If I had known about this before, I never would have stopped here.

A beautiful temple with lots of great architecture and colour. There are giant turtles and Limulus Polyphemus underneath the temple. I was amazing to see giant turtles for the first time they are so beautiful! It’s kind of sad that they don’t have much space to move around. The area they live in is dark, small and shallow. I don’t think there is much air that goes in there.

A special spot. Local temple with an aquarium underground. The aquarium seems well maintained but it is still sad to see the animals got stuck there...

Great over the top temple dedicated to Guang Gong. Temple enthusiasts will love the delicate painting work on deities faces: the door gods have the most handsome look in Taiwan.nThe basement should be avoided by animal lovers though, there is a sordid reminder of darker times for animal rights. I guess it's representing what the kingdom of Hell looks like for sea life: restrained turtles within a coral genocide nightmare.nn門神uff1a超帥n地下室uff1a超不帥!

Do not support this animal cruelty.. These are seaturtles. What right mind thought a 40cm deep basin would be OK?
