Korosten museum

I was so impressed by the museum's exhibits. There was so much effort put into providing exhibits with extensive amounts of primary resources. I would definitely recommend getting a guided tour, there is so much there and it is best conveyed through a local guide.

Not big, but informative museum about the area and its history, worth taking a live guide to hear more insights of the exhibits.

The modern exposition of the Korosten Museum of Local Lore was opened in 1987 in the premises of the former headquarters of the Korosten fortified area. Here is a history of the region from ancient times based on the results of archaeological research conducted in the 1990s. The most valuable exhibits are samples of minerals, weapons of the XIII-XIX centuries, tools of Polishchuks, objects of folk arts and crafts. A special place in the exhibition is occupied by the canvas-diorama "Princess Olga near the walls of ancient Iskorosten" (artist A. Turansky, 1982), which reproduces the picture of the arrival of the widowed princess of Kiev to the walls of the rebellious city.
